Keep on going!

I find giving myself pep talks sort of...works. If I talk to myself (in my head) and maybe mouth the words if I'm alone, I can feel a little better. If I consciously try to stay positive, I will feel better.

For instance, I really miss Scott tonight for some reason. I talked to him and stuff, but it really made me miss him and just being there. Anyways, instead of dwelling on the fact that I'm not there, I TRY to think, "Only a week from tomorrow" because I should be able to get out there by then. A week still feels like a long time, but hey this one is almost done...

I dunno. I sort of got a lot done today. I mean for a person with bronchial problems. A bunch of astro, like I think I mentioned already, and then some Japanese. I'm gonna listen to the first disk of Nakama 2 when I decide to turn out the lights. See how much I can catch. I'll probably fall asleep pretty quick...

I also got an e-mail from 3 about meeting up for Japanese. We are both kind of in a similar boat, so I think if we partner up and motivate each other we will be able to get through the semester. That's what I have to do. It's so easy to want to cry and feel like I can't make it. It's all overwhelming, but I have to just keep going... Hopefully my extra credits will be ok and then my registration will be complete. Soon, I think, everything will settle down into a schedule I can follow with barely a thought. Just go to the classes, do the work, make some time for friends, and escape as many weekends as I can.

Oh hell, I just remembered that stupid Saturday meeting. The reason I can't go THIS weekend. I hope they aren't every weekend. I just can't do that.

But there I go again. Somehow everything will be ok. Bronchitis doesn't last forever, this week doesn't last forever, September doesn't last forever, the semester doesn't last forever... And then my negative mind says, "Yeah, well, just about EVERYTHING doesn't last forever and that is opening the door to some very unhappy thoughts about sadness and death."

See, I really need to work on this. I really am ok, though!

Slow going

Well, I got my astronomy homework done, or rather, the numbered questions bit of it, I did. Still have to read Chapter 5, which promises to be long and complicated. I'm rewarding myself with a blog break.

I think if I do it section by section and take breaks in between, it won't be so bad. I really hope I feel like ten times better tomorrow so I can go to class, but somehow I doubt it. It sucks, though. This is an important couple of chapters I'm missing : / Very science-y and stuff.

In other news, I ran out of tissues. There were 280 as of yesterday afternoon, but as of ten minutes ago there were none. I took my trash out, so everyone should stay away from the bronchitisy dumpster out back.

I'm realizing how hard I'm going to have to fight to keep Japanese in the shuffle. It was hard enough even when I had 4.5 hours of class every week, but now it's all up to me. I may start going to see Mayumi-sensei more often, once I get better.

Oh, speaking of which, I really need to turn in my overload paperwork. I have the cash, now so I should probably head over there. Ugh. I wish there were Kleenex stations every 10 yards or so. Then I would be able to get around much better. It's either that or have a nasty wad stuck in my pocket...(eww)

I'm going to try to go to dinner at the dining hall. It doesn't really sound that great. It's a bbq themed night. No idea why. So basically it's just sausage and burgers and bbq chicken. A brat (or the closest I could get) would be tasty, I guess...maybe. Not sure, the dining hall tends to somehow mess up just about anything. I have soup at home, but I already skipped enough meals to feed me all weekend and any more I skip will just be wasted : /

----

Well, I forgot to post this, so I guess I'll just add on...

I turned in my overload petition. Apparently there COULD be more paperwork involved with all this crap, but as of right now I just have to wait and see what happens. After I did that I headed over to the bbq and had a sausage (which seemed more mild Italian than anything else), a couple bites of nasty salad, and a piece of one of those weird big cakes.

You know, a big freakin' huge sheet cake that says, "Go Tigers!" in some abominably colored frosting. It's 2 layers, one white, one chocolate, with some nasty strawberry goo in between, chocolate on top. It wasn't HORRIBLE, but I would've much rather had a cookie or something. I just think it's funny they have these weird generic sheet cakes at all the outdoor bbqs.

Now I'm gonna do more astronomy...and debate about the Wii some more.

Bronchitis

After the afternoon I feel worse. There are lots of medicines. This morning I started some homework, but I feel so...ugh. No class tomorrow for me. I hope the meds work. It might be viral, in which case, I may just...be sick.

I ate some waffles with peanut butter and fell asleep to techno. Now I'm awake again and maybe sort of hungry. Hard to judge. The boy is hopefully calling later so I can croak to him over the phone the trials and tribulations of the day and see how he's been. There is something loud outside that I dislike. I dunno what's going on, but there's music and someone talking over a mic. I wish I could read when I'm sick. I barely have enough...whatever...to sit here and Internet. It'd be fun to watch a movie, but I'd rather just be in bed. So I listen to music.

I was supposed to take two pills today, but I only took one. Maybe that was bad. I mean, if it doesn't work, they will probably ask if I took the medecine correctly and I would have to say no, and then they would have the right to say, "Well, what do you expect?" I thought maybe it would make me feel really sick, cuz the guy at the pharmacy said it would. Maybe since I feel the same, now, three hours after having taken one, maybe I could eat something and have the second. Sounds sort of like a plan...maybe.

Since I didn't go to the dining hall at all today I have two saved up for the weekend, which is handy. I need more vegetables in my diet, but the ones at the dining hall are usually horrible. Like, I'm almost wary of REAL vegetables now, because those are always so bad. Also, I've found that I really still don't like them THAT much. It's still a chore to eat them, just...I can.

Uhm...bleh. I really wish I wasn't sick.

'morning

I'm not sure what should go before that. Maybe, "unfortunate." I didn't get much sleep last night since I was mostly coughing... I'm not very good at dealing with being sick. Anyhow, I called the advice nurse people just now and the lady said to do...pretty much the normal stuff. I asked if I should go to class and she said probably not... Which, I mean I'd feel shitty about going to class anyway, since I feel worse than yesterday. I hate missing, though... I dunno. I don't like having gaps in my notes.

I have an hour to kill before I can go to the doctor, and even then I dunno if I can get in. I guess I will call them.

It's lonely to be sick.

I guess if I stay home I will just end up reading textbooks in bed. However, when I read in bed I get tired, usually, for some reason (probably cuz it's bed.) Hell, though, it's probably a good thing by now if I can get SOMETHING to knock me out.

I really regret not doing laundry earlier, now. I have like...pretty much no clothes, and of course laundry is just all I want to do when a breath that isn't quite shallow enough draws the cough from hell.

I did get some sleep, but definitely not as much as the night before (which was still pretty...coughful.) No idea when I finally fell asleep, but definitely a ways after 1. Then I woke up around...5 something and haven't been able to sleep. So I may have gotten as much as 4 hours, but then I seem to remember being vaguely awake at some other point as well. It wasn't a good sleep, it was a dozy stupid sleep threatening to be ended at the slightest inkling of a tickle in my throat or any sort of noise indicating the World.

It's probably just a cold, which sucks. I mean, yeah, great I don't have like DEATH, or anything, but why do I always get such horrible colds? I need tissues. I used up pretty much all the random ones in the bathroom (that I didn't buy.) We're almost out of toilet paper... ALL IS LOST. I'm so not going ANYWHERE, except maybe the wellness center, and if I go there then I'll probably stop to pick up my package on the way back, since it's right there. Maybe my books for Japanese Film came and I can start that this afternoon while I drink plenty of fluids.

*ramble*

Still way too much time to kill. I was thinking about going and having breakfast on the way, but it would probably be nicer of me to brush my teeth and have breakfast on the way back instead. Well, I guess I'm gonna go write some e-mails and explain to my profs that I'll see them on Friday : / if I'm lucky...

It's strange...

Having not blogged all day, I can't really think of anything too much to talk about. It was sort of the same run of the mill schooly school school, but I just didn't bitch about it in my blog like an emo LJer.

It's been frustrating with this cough. Really reminds me of last year. I almost wonder if it's just allergies again or what... Just so annoying coughing up a storm in all my classes, can't sleep...blah blah.

Hung out with Nila, who is pretty much my new best friend. We met totally at random the other day cuz I was stalking Dr. Cipris to get him to sign some paperwork for me. We meant to study, but it didn't really happen.

Crud, I should've filled out my timecard today...grrr. I guess tomorrow I will do it at the PRIDE meeting. Man, though. I feel bad. I'm going to have to not go to pretty much any of those since I am tutoring a group of students from the community college down the road from probably 6-8.

What else? Talked to my Favorite, and he seemed well. It's really weird, though, because he goes to bed before I do. I feel like the universe is really out of balance if he is tired before me. That just doesn't happen o_o I should probably be going to bed earlier, but honestly, there just isn't any reason to get up before 9 or maybe quarter to if I'm showering, and I don't really sleep more than 8 MAYBE 9 hours unless I stayed up really late or am unusually zonked.

Food is still annoying me. It was a Chinese-themed dinner night with tasty egg roll and yucky everything else...Mostly today I ate a lot of fruit, and I can tell because my tongue noticed all the sweeeeetness, mostly from the pomegranite limeade (yeah, I know o_O That's why I had to try it) I think.

I need to look on brighter sides AND also try to regain my former enthusiasm for Japanese. When I was teaching myself in high school, it was so fun. That's just what I did. It was great. I was just learning because I was interested. Somewhere along the line it became chore-like (esp here) so I need to "rewind to go forward," or what have you.

Hopefully little by little everything will come together...

Too momentous a bullshit to pass up

So I'm about to go to bed, right? It's probably past the time that would be good anyways, I need to get up to shower, go to the library, etc, whatever, and NOW I get the hiccups. I honestly don't remember the last time I had the hiccups. THEY WON'T STOP.

So fucking stupid.

On a more positive note, I studied and talked to Scott which cheered me up pretty well. Then I watched the end of American Beauty which I'm too lazy to link to. You probably already saw it anyways. After that I was going to just go to bed but got roped into being social, which was fine, but now it's 1 am and I have the hiccups.

*sigh*

I blog too much.

You'll notice, however, that I really only blog too much when I'm upset. Things are so out of whack at school.

FOOD is out of whack at school.

I don't even know what the whack is, but it's out...

For instance, I watched them SPRAY COOKING OIL (from one of those cans) DIRECTLY ON PANCAKES this morning. One side was cooking and the other that was up got a nice dose of oil. Moral is: cook your own damned pancakes!

But I can't cook my own everything. Meal plan is meal plan is meal plan. I had chicken tacos for dinner and they were...not so great. I think from now on I'll just be sure to have breakfast at home and the other two meals (during the week) at the dining hall. As for the weekends? DAMNED IF I KNOW. I'll come up with something. Probably more macaroni to go with the rest of that ground beef and peas in the freezer.

Maybe tomorrow I'll try blogging ONCE in the evening. That is my cap. Just one time. This doesn't really help me cope so much as enable me to FEEL SHITTIER by thinking ENTIRELY TOO MUCH about EVERYTHING.

I have work soon. I sincerely hope I won't be expected to accomplish anything during that time, because I'd really like to just read my politics homework.

Then maybe I'll watch that movie when I get back...*shrug*

un/de/im-motivated

It is so hard to have any kind of get-up-and-go here. I feel sluggy and useless. I know I have to get over this, cuz I'm here, and I'm going to be here for the semester, save happy weekends of escape to San Francisco.

I told my roommate I was glad they weren't watching the movie until 9:30, because I would go...but I think I'm going to flake. I can just tell I'm not in that sort of a social mood.

I did meet a cool girl named Nila. She's a new transfer, Japanese major, wants to be a professor of Japanese studies in the future. She sees things here kind of like I do. Brave soul, coming here while recognizing the fact that they're combining the Japanese dept with the Chinese dept and calling it East Asian Studies...

Well, I got out of my Japanese class. Indepedent study now. Seems for the best. I just need school to be over. That will be the best. Anyways, I'm going to be counting an awful lot on myself this semester. I need ACTUALLY BE ABLE TO COUNT ON MYSELF. Anyone have any ideas on how to get into it? (Academics, not parties or clubs or bullshit stuff like that.)

Hmph

Yeah, last night was STUPID. I officially detest my upstairs neighbors, and that is not hyperbole. They were having some sort of party or something until past one in the morning complete with drunk idiot screaming at the top of his lungs something mostly to the point of "motherfucker." GAH. These people! Banging on everything, blasting crappy music... College is so dumb. I really hope the cops came and broke it up.

After getting less sleep than I should have, I woke up and rushed a breakfast of blueberry pancakes and a sip of water before going to COMP 41. Then I came back here and had some banana bread with cream cheese. Lunch menu tells me there is lamb...

Yeah, I forgot to change my meal plan before I left, so I'm stuck at 10 a week. I don't remember if I wrote that or not. It's probably fine. Less time to waste on cooking.

Japanese is still giving me a headache. I think I need to throw out logistics and just LEARN SOME FREAKIN' JAPANESE. I feel like it's a lost cause...which is bad. I really shouldn't be allowed to think that. Actually, I e-mailed Yusuke. That was good. Haven't read his reply yet, because I'm sure it will be kanji dictionary intensive, but I feel like that will be good help...maybe...or something.

Both my jobs start this week PRIDE center MT, tutoring WR, Friday is off so I can jam out to Frisco asap.

I realized last night that my astro class is moving really fast. Am I supposed to be mastering all these concepts on the fly like this? I don't really have much of a precedent for this. Last time I took a science class was...five years ago >_< Flaming hell, though.

Tomorrow I can pick up my check, but I really should have taken more money out of my account because the amount I asked for will really only pay people back. I guess with my check from my summer job coming in, that won't be so bad... I just remembered that Contact is coming out like...next week. That rocks so much. Hopefully I'll have my check by then and will be able to afford a slight reward for...being alive.

>_<

I'ma go get some papers signed.

mini earth

I watched the the movie. Of course, it's horrible, but the first thing that popped into my head was:

Man, if the world was only a village of a hundred people think how EASY it would be for us to help one another out. I would make dinner and instead of sticking the leftovers in the fridge to essentially rot unless I find the will to eat them I would just serve it up for the whole neighborhood. Damn, dude, I could teach people to read out of my house. The richest people are only SIX? I think 94 of us could take them on for sure (especially after we feed'em all up and we're strong and smart.)

I guess the point is that it's just a scale model...and I'm overthinking it...

but...

yeah.

Real life is a lot more complicated.

I am disturbingly awake

and probably not helping the matter with my cinniraisin toast and orange juice...

It sounded tasty!!! >_<

Still, though, quite strange. Usually I'm pretty zonked by this time of night. Luckily I don't have any really early classes, so it won't matter if I stay up another couple hours.

(Sick people should really be in bed, though...)

Anyways, it's a good opportunity to read the rest of my astronomy homework.

Athlete and my silly dorm

Well, I'm trying to take this more in stride and less...stupidly lol. I'm at school. Listening to Athlete (Vehicles and Animals) here as I pick up (a tiny bit) doesn't seem so bad. I had a really good weekend, even though I got kinda sick. I'm so lucky with Scott.

On the train home I talked a bit with some kid whose name I never found out. He had a hell of a time finding the bus station to take him to the train. Another fellow and I both recommended he take the BART next time. Save him a lot of money etc. I had a sandwich with really thick bread.

Man, I really love this CD.

Uh, so the train was fine. Getting a cab took longer than I would've liked. Not so bad, though, once it happened.

Now I'm just sorta here. Feel ok. Throat still irritated. Hopefully I'll be able to sleep...

*sigh*

Attitude Problems

Yeah, in case anyone's missed it, I've been in quite the fucking mood lately. So now that I'm SICK on top of it, we might as well just give up. It's freaking 3:30 in the morning. I managed to sleep for a couple of hours, but now I'm wide awake. Can't sleep. Feel worse than I did before. My throat is bugging the hell out of me. It's not even that bad, it's that it's irritated (sort of like me) so I have to keep swallowing all the damned time which is bothering my stomach (and me.)

AND I'M AWAKE.

And there are people cackling outside.

And I have to go back to school in like 16.5 hours. (God, I almost said, "home." Don't let me do that. I'm not even hanging up my posters cuz I freaking hate it.)

On a train.

Sick.

To Stockton.

To do more work.

And I don't even have a ride yet...

I think I seriously need to let some shit go, but I'm not very good at doing that. I was doing a really good job this weekend. Even wrote my paper without too much of a fuss. Generally feeling a lot better than I had all freaking week at school, and then I had to get sick.

I'd like to blame my roommate and hate her, but that wouldn't be nice and of course, there's no way to prove it's from her.

I had a dream where I was being really mean to my mom and my sister. For some reason they were bugging me about the name of this band I liked (it was playing...I don't think it's a real band) and I couldn't think of it (probably cuz it wasn't real) and that was really making me mad. And it was making me mad that they kept asking, making me feel stupid. Basically I was just being an all around jerk, to everyone. I realized that's pretty much the way I AM right now, at least to myself and my blog (and not knowing the answer to the question? How about fucking too difficult Japanese and astronomy and politics etc etc infinity?) I feel like I'm acting really dumb about school and everything, but I'm just genuinely not happy there. I don't feel like it's something I should hide, but at the same time, it just seems really immature to mope about it. Get over myself, or something : /

I took some cough medicine because I thought it would maybe help my throat. No such luck. I was hoping maybe it would make it so I didn't have to swallow every 2 seconds and make my stomach feel crummy. And maybe make me tired.

Technically, I should be drinking water, but I don't want to just drink water and pee all night. I should be SLEEPING. Why am I so damned awake? Scotty is sleeping, or at least resting well. Why can't I just follow a simple example and leave my brain on autopilot for a while?

Everything sucks ten times worse when you're sick. Always puts me in a really rotten pathetic mood. I should just GET OVER IT and concentrate on feeling better, but it seems sort of futile, since I JUST got sick today. See, I'm just getting depressed now. It only takes something as simple as that and I hate school, don't want to leave, feel like a pathetic loser, and hate myself for writing it all in my stupid blog that was supposed to be talking about how great it is to be learning so much Japanese...

@_@ %_% *_* &_&

That last one looks like my eyes are falling out, or are pregnant, or...are crying little fishies.

Well, I got most of my crud done last night. Still have some astro to read before then. Astro and Japanese to do. Which means I should probably be getting on that soon. Anways, I woke up early, so I feel entitled to a LITTLE screwing around.

I might have a ride to San Francisco tonight. If there's a weekend to stay home this month, this would be the one cuz there's Network Games on Saturday. Scott can't come here though, and if I really do have a ride, I'm definitely taking it.

I bought a smallish box of laundry detergent last night. I was planning on doing that this weekend, but it can definitely wait (like...another couple days lol Soon I'm really going to need...well, I probably already need underwear and socks. Dammit! V_V)

I think I'm off to the Summit for coffee. JUST COFFEE (with milk!!) I don't care WHAT kind of donuts they have *scowl* lol

Those are some boring paragraphs. Except the first they all start with I.

ARRRGH

You know, if I wasn't so sick of studying from all my other homework, I would probably be doing Japanese right now. I fucking hate school.

That's distressing. My blog is becoming an index of how much I hate everything...

I can't look at a textbook right now. Maybe I will...go...

>_<

*shrug*

I can't thiiiiiiiiink...

Man, good thing I only had one class today, cuz I have no BRAIN. GAH...stupid music everywhere. I can't stand it. There has to be shit going on all the fucking time. Not only in my room, but out the window, upstairs, you can't avoid all this noise that's just constant. I mean, I suppose I should just ask my roommates to turn down the stereo. I dunno why we needed a stereo anyways. "Good for parties," GREAT. Fucking great. It's a bummer, because they're not BAD roommates. I just don't want roommates. I helped in the most minute possible way to make banana bread cuz we had a whole bunch of mushy bananas, but the whole time I was doing it I would've rather been in my room trying to find DATED ORDERED clips of The Colbert Report, which is fucking difficult.

I am SO just hating the world lately. Even when I'm feeling ok, I'm still very irritable and I just can't handle all the bullshit. I have the rest of this "hardware basics" chapter and then a couple sections of astronomy to read. That is me SCALING back on what I had intended to accomplish this afternoon cuz I could tell I was just going to end up fucking around or being too cold or noise bombarded to think or get so damned sleepy for no reason.

*ate a peach*

Man, I think it's getting serious. I'm gonna go to the library till I get this shit done. Might as well take those books back, too *sigh* Anyways, I can write them down and read them later, like after stupid school is over.

On a happy note, I found out that Amity and most of the eikaiwa companies provide health benefits. That's important because I need them after I graduate. The problem is...I don't really want to go right away. Theoretically, I could wait a couple YEARS, but...I don't really want to do that either. I just...BLAH... I mean, what if I really like it and end up want to start looking for "real" job? I soooooooo didn't think I'd be in love with the best boy ever at this point.

I shouldn't even be worrying about that yet.

Fucking textbooks.

Sad sad Milwaukee

What the fuck. Why can't I see Milwaukee in the news without it being some horrible gang of people doing evil?

Wednesday, September 06, 2006

Today officially gets...

a fucking F-.

Even the awesome conversation I had with Three couldn't bring it up enough to qualify for an F. We reminisced about cool things and decided to be study buddies for Japanese so I can escape my class. It was good, but everything else managed to encroach once more. I need to get better at cutting out my patch of happy.

Both times I tried to call Scott today, I woke him up. How do I manage that shit? God. I suck. I just want to make sure he's doing ok, tell him I love him, and feel better just for hearing his voice, and instead I rob him of his well-deserved and much-needed sleep.

I STILL haven't done any of my homework. Luckily tomorrow is my ONE CLASS day. So if I put my mind to it I should be able to get all caught up.

My roommate has a fucking cold. THAT'S ALL I NEED!!!!!

X_X

Work cut out for me

Here is the essay my US Gov & Politics prof (Benedetti) told us to look to as the epitome of style. George Orwell, "Shooting an Elephant." (Actually we were told it was called "To Kill An Elephant" but this seems to be incorrect.) Very well written (obviously), but quite depressing. My first book review is due on Tuesday. We'll have to master it (and the book) by then.

Listening to 80s music

That's weird, huh. Well, if you know me it is. Maybe I will get used to it.

Today was all around pretty crummy. Woke up an hour early because my roommate was (I thought) throwing up. Upon further reflection I came to the conclusion that she was probably just brushing her teeth. Living in dorms, etc, you learn that many many people either like to completely empty their throats into the sink or somehow manage to gag themselves on accident... Nevertheless, I was already awake. Made bagel sandwiches, could've done with more egg and less...bagel, and maybe some bacon.

Computer class (XD) was fine except that I read the wrong chapter. It didn't really matter much because Scotty taught me binary already and I read the appropriate chapter in How Computers Work in the summer, sooooo...but still. I felt kinda dumb.

After that I slacked off...read a bit, after running around getting papers signed found out that my petition to overload credits can't be accepted without $25 CASH fee . Fucking fee. I was cranky. I told her I didn't even know what I was going to eat for dinner since I only had a dollars so I didn't know what to do. She told me to come back when I had money. Also, there is the chance that they will just NOT let me overload. I mean, if they don't want me to graduate early, they could just say I can't...

That made me mad.

Then I went to Japanese. That made me feel horrible. I'm no good anymore. I think I burnt out...somewhere...I just don't know what to do. Not to mention the fact that I can't read the textbook she picked. The other one I got is more where I'm at, which is really sad because I would've been THROUGH it already LAST year if I was still in Milwaukee. Honestly, though, there is no use thinking about that because there is NO WAY I would take California back. San Francisco back. The boy...back. No way. I don't even want to think about it, but in instances like these, it's hard not to wish I could've somehow had everything at once.

So that got me good and upset. Then I had to go to Astro where I realized how many mistakes I made on my homework (not too serious, but still, by this point...bleh bleh bleh). I also for some reason thought he was talking about parallax, which he wasn't...at all. Instead he was talking about sidereal days, which, by the way, is pronounced "side-EAR-ial" and not "SIDE-real." Just...so you all know...

x_x

Hey, at least I didn't SAY it. He said it. Actually for all I know it COULD be "SIDE-real." He does say "celestrial." (Kind of like how my comp teacher says "periphial." I mean, I know no one's perfect, and it's not that big of a deal, but my ears prick every time...just sort of distracting.)

Speaking of comp class, I've got a paper due on some aspect of computer history. I was thinking about writing about retro video games, but then I thought maybe I should pick something I'm not likely to go learn about on my own anyways. Like, what's something I wouldn't be inclined to figure out stuff about without this class pushing me to do so? I might write about vacuum tubes. I was thinking maybe...I could find a book...containing some...anecdotes about people...who...used them. Or broke them. Or...I dunno what I expect to find. Something to make a really exciting essay with and then maybe I could put it on LD, too.

I'm wondering how soon new meds would affect my mood. One of my friends mentioned I seem really different (and emo.) Lately I'm very...moody. I get very square and kind obsessive when I'm not feeling good about the way things are going. I dunno. It's hard not to be upset about everything, ESPECIALLY Japanese. I almost feel like it's a lost cause, which is bad.

Bad.
Shouldn't think about it.

So, I had this great chocolate mousse for dinner and then, minutes later, remembered that they are having S'MORES tonight at some informational meeting that I don't really care about, but could have attend for previously mentioned chockamallow goodness. Ohhhhhhhh well. My roommate wants chocolate and had a slice of dried mango instead. It's all relative.

Scott and I decided last night that as far as the world goes, we're both doing pretty damned well (even though we're both kinda down and pining away.) I should just be happy with that, I guess, not complacent, but happy enough to KEEP IMPROVING things instead of getting dragged down.

Speaking of...all that crap. I think I need to work on my perfectionist/completionist instincts. I'm not completionist in games at all, but in other things I feel off if I don't have the sense that I got all there is. I was thinking about this in regards to Japanese after writing in my 1up blog about reading (like the news and blogs and...1Up lol). I need to stop trying to find "THE BEST METHOD" and just pick ANY method and study GOD DAMMIT. If I allow myself to be paralyzed by the lack of a "PERFECT METHOD" then I will never ever ever learn anything and continue to hate myself for my lack of skillz.

Uh...*dumps contents of brain with an unhealthy sounding "plop" into her blog*

That should about do it.

Hey, everyone.

I did my astro homework, how 'bout that? Perhaps next time I should ask advice on where the darkest place on campus is, cuz of course every freakin' sidewalk, lawn, and rooftop are FLOODED with damnable LIGHT.

Damnable.

And I didn't actually print the worksheet. Made my own. Very, uh...ghetto.

First, though, I played some DDR all by my lonesome. I failed a couple times, but only a couple. Then I did have that Snickers bar. It tasted realllly good. I'm gonna read the rest of my homework so I can go for the snooze time.

Technically, I should shower, but instead I will put it off till the morning so my hair won't look funny in computer class :D

(I realize how ridiculous it is to call it "computer class," but that only makes it more fun ;p)

"a croaking dalek with laryngitis"

There's a picture of this implant in my textbook. I didn't know we had this. I'm not sure if it really sounds worth it, though. Sounds like too much trouble, also a little creepy. Those computer voices usually creep me out. It wouldn't be like talking to your friends unless you got really visually oriented. No one can afford it, anyways...

Concentration Depletion

You want to know WHY? How ridiculous it is. I fear I will become hungry at some point in the relatively immediate future. Say, a couple or three hours. I had dinner at 5, a banana a bit ago. It's just too stupid.

I only do this when I'm not happy.

School is a huge drag on my happy index. When I'm too stressed and not happy and wishing I were elsewhere I obsess about food and worry about stupid things.

I KNOW that's the only reason I'm even thinking about it, but that doesn't help. I'd like to go play DDR, but that will only exacerbate the imminent hunger.

What could I eat? There isn't really anything that I have that I haven't already eaten today. This is the problem involving lack of groceries.

...
...
...
...

I kinda want a Snickers bar. I also kind of need a shower.

AND TO DO MY HOMEWORK (still.)

Pretend we just kept going

So we got my textbooks and had crepes which were very tasty. Mine had red bean paste, banana pudding (with BANANAS), kuromitsu, and whipped cream all folded up tasty-like. YUM! I shared a bit with Scotty and I think he liked it, too.

We wandered around, and then meandered over to Haight and Ashbury (quite a bit of walking we did that day) where we strolled about and ate tasty hamburgers. Finally went in Amoeba Records. It's BIG and they have tons and tons and tons of musics. Many. Also DVDs, which I guess I could've expected, but never thought to.

Then I think when we arrived home we had a youtube fest...unless I am remembering incorrectly. In any case, we all love:

It's important that you love it, too.

Mmmm...unfortunately Scotty's parents had to take off pretty quick Sunday morning. I had a lot of fun hanging out with them and only hope I didn't act like too much of a freak to be likable x_x

The vast majority of the rest of the long weekend was spent playing Magic: The Gathering. This is somewhat amazing considering that when I was a little kid I wanted to play SO bad and begged my parents for a deck. Then when I finally got one I realized I was the only person I knew who cared and also that I didn't really understand how to play. Too bad Scott wasn't my friend back then (although back then we would've been on different planets as far as social life goes...) cuz he was playing up a storm with his pals. LUCKILY, he's got a zillion cards that his parents lugged all the way from Maine, so we put together a bunch of decks and playyyyyyyyyyed and played and played. Much fun XD

We also watched a few episodes of The Tick in full living breathing human form. In fact, we showed some to his parents as well before they left. It's funny. In fact, I might even go so far as to say I enjoy it more than the cartoon EXCEPT that The Tick is REALLY stupid. He was always a little clueless, but in the live-action he's almost unbearably dumb. It also gets rather old just watching Arthur tell him he wants to go somewhere alone (Ok, we get it, Tick thinks they're a duo for life. I wonder how they go to the bathroom...) I love Batmanuel (and the fact that he has his own wikipedia entry XD), though. He's way cooler than his cartoon counterpart.

Leaving is always unbearable. Monday when I had to go I was sooooo sad. You'd think it would get easier, but it doesn't. Always a pretty miserable experience. Hugging and kissing across the barrier until I absolutely HAVE to get on the escalator down to the train : / I'll bet he doesn't have much more fun walking home uphill alone than I do riding the trains back to yucky Stockton...

Yeah, I'm getting more and more sick of school. Actually I'm also beginning to wonder if I really like to cook, or if it's just something I tell myself. If I really liked to, you'd think I would somehow acquire ingredients and go to it, but when I look at recipes it all looks like so much work and I hate putzing around with raw meat and blergh. I need to do something, though, because as much as I love pizza, it's not exactly the best thing for a person. What I did figure out is that it is probably fairly economical to get a small salad at the bar in the Summit. They're only 3 dollars. I think that would probably save me lots of time, if not money. Sometimes cooking for yourself is cheaper, but in the case of the salad, I could see all of the ingredients ending up to be an awful lot, not to mention the time spent chopping etc.

NOT TO MENTION THE TIME SPENT BLOGGING AND SURFING ABSENTMINDEDLY.

I was looking for a damned (tasty-looking healthy one person college studenty) recipe site for like...an hour...on fucking accident V_V Didn't exactly succeed.

Anyways, time for homework crap.

Phoo

Oh man...blogger is in a new beta. I made a silly joke blog that I haven't posted in. I really don't want to switch. Does this mean I have to like...physically move all my blogs over to the new blogger? Or do these sites stay? I guess I don't have a problem moving. I need to get answers to these questions >_< Just one more stupid thing to worry about...

Nothing like an astronomy lab

to put one in a foul mood. Now I remember what I hated most about science. Fucking labs. Fucking working with people you never wanted to talk to EVER and now have to and explain your way of thinking in vain and they try to explain crap to you and you have no idea what they're talking about and you're all probably more stupid than a rock anyhow.

So that's not very NICE, but I'm not in a very nice mood.

Other gripes with astronomy:

-Not only do I hate labs in general, I especially hate labs on scale. Scale just makes me mad. Sure it's interesting to think about in an abstract way (e.g. "the universe is really fucking huge,") but all these weird analogies just piss me off more than anything. Mapping the solar system out on the campus lawn, in other words, did not teach me much, especially considering we've already been through the grapefruit-sized sun scale that starts in DC...

-I don't like the night sky. I mean it's nice to look at, but as a topic of study it's really just irritating. I don't want to measure degrees or draw maps. Constellations as goofy patterns, fine; constellations as the celestial united states is annoying. Learning about where the sun is in the sky or what phase the moon is in is boring to me. I feel bad about it, but it just is. I'm sure this is a big part of the reason why I quit astronomy the first time.

In fact, maybe I really DON'T find astronomy interesting. I have this idea that I do, but maybe it's just too much science and not enough...whatever else I thought would be in there.

----

Well, I just opted out of my first week of PRIDE work. This should give me a little more time to get my shit together. Hopefully everyone will understand. Honestly, I think I would probably just be in the way during our "renovation" anyways. I can't really move heavy things or paint...whatever. I'd probably just stand around awkwardly.

I have to make it to a variety of offices before they close, so I should get running, but DO LOOK FORWARD to the rest of the weekend's blog ramble.

Getting ahead of myself

I'm definitely going to talk about my kickass Labor Day weekend with the boy and his parents, but I don't really have enough time right now to get into it and I really don't even know if I have enough time to do THIS, since I have to be at astro lab in a half hour...but I wanted to do this instead of read or study or whatever for a minute.

So we'll say the first order of business AFTER the weekend is my new meds. Hopefully this will mean less side-effects and more happiness all around.

Second is my US Gov & Politics class. Today we talked about the structure of our book reviews. Our prof also has a degree in English lit and in fact he mentioned that the style he prefers most is George Orwell (whom I always confuse--in name only--with Orson Wells, damn them both! lol). In fact, he asked if any of us had read any of him and when I mentioned Down and Out in London and Paris (whiche I enjoyed in high school and remember nearly nothing of exCEPT that I enjoyed it) he was quite impressed. Yay. Sadly, I highly doubt my style has anything at all to do with Orwell, so we may come into some difficulty there. Fortunately, I have the rest of this week to try to emulate him, as our first review isn't due until next Tuesday.

For lunch I went over to the summit for salad and chocolate soymilk. Somewhere along the line, though, I lost my taste for chocolate soymilk, so I'm a little disappointed. It's funny, because for a while last semester I was absolutely addicted. I wanted it every single day. I would've enjoyed chocolate (regular) milk much more, but all they had was strawberry...

Well, hell, that didn't take much time at all. Maybe I do have time to talk about the weekend XD

Friday (as evidenced by the previous post) I was very anxious to get out of Stockton and into happiness with the boy, San Francisco, etc. I had to pull a severe mooch maneuver and get Sam(antha, from last year in Jessie B) to drop me off at the train station. She didn't seem to mind too terribly, but I still feel guilty. I even mentioned that when she's driving me around seems to be the only time we get to chat. Anyways, from there, things were ok, although I got hit with some fees on the train for not having a reservation etc. Funny, because other times it seems like it was cheaper to not have a reservation. Anyhow, on the way back I did and that made things simpler. Got in about...8ish? I seem to recall. It was a little stressful because I had phoned Scott's house and gotten his parents and tried to explain I was getting ON the train in Richmond in five minutes, but this was miscommunicated as arriving from Richmond in five minutes, so Scotty ended up waiting around for quite a while at the BART stop.

After dropping things off and catching our breath, all (four) of us went out for sushi at the place formerly known to cut their sashimi in huge massive rough slabs instead of nice thin strips. That was really the only reason we went there, in fact, because Scott knew his dad would appreciate lots of fish. To our dismay, they cut it normally this time and the rest of the food was sort of mediocre...but I still ate too much. Ha @_@ Upon returning to the apt, everyone got into some rather intense poltical philosophical technological everything else debate that I tried to content myself to simply listen to because I couldn't find much to add : / It was very interesting, though.

In the morning we hit up J-town for my Japanese textbooks (which now that I--

ha, I don't have time to finish this now. I'll post it anyways XD and finish later. Off to astro lab...

Eternal Damnation

Fucking nachos.

In a startling lack of judgement I devour a plate of nachos with somewhat disgustingly tasty but eventually heart-attack inducing queso, black beans, and less than mediocre gaucomole.

I AM SADDENED BY THIS TURN OF EVENTS.

Fortunately, that should deaden the nacho impulse for some time to come.

Unfortunately, it's only 12:30 and I want to leave NOW and not at 5.

Also unfortunate is that fact that I have to lug underwear, socks, and other weekend equipment to astronomy with me (and even more unfortunate is that I have to lug my big sexy textbook and other astro equipment to weekend with me.)

We haven't even taken into account Japanese yet.

To be honest, it is quite cold in here. I think the best part of today so far was comp. Obviously the worst is either the temperature (inside or out...depends how you'd like to look at it) or the nacho indiscretion.

Of course, the VERY BEST part of today is yet to come. I CAN'T WAIT TO GET OUT OF HERE XD

Oh yes, the three dayer...

Two more classes and then it's off to a San Franciscan weekend of boy and happy love with PARENTS! Yays!

Apparently, I am not meant to look presentable on campus. Today I finally dug out a pair of pants (err, capris) that werne't my holey, navy, falling apart cords, but about ten minutes after I put them on my coffee decided it woiuld like to be put on as well. Do not wear your morning beverage! So unhip.

I wrote that in the back of my COMP 41 notebook this morning in order to preserve it's fresh feel. Now, though, the coffee has dried to a fairly invisible splotch. I'm debating putting on those other pants anyways, though, because San Francisco will be cool whether it's 90 degrees here or not.

I gotsa read my astro homework...

Good news from a zombie

Between the heat here in Stockton and the (most mental, but still) energy I'm expending, I feel absolutely drained. Astronomy was quite the slog, but luckily an hour and a half isn't toooooo long. The lecture was rather boring because he used the online modules that came with our textbook which I had already perused yesterday evening. Anyways, since I don't have too much food yet, I grabbed a sandwich (mustard, lettuce, tomato, roast beef, cheddar on a wheat roll) and a soda (Henry Weinhard's Black Cherry Cream) at the Summit. Hopefully food and sugar will wake me up. Just feeling generally unwell.

Ok, but there is good news as promised, and that good news is as follows: I AM DONE WITH SCHOOL (after this semester.)

...

Yay.

The final class listing is: Astronomy (with a lab), Great Ideas in Computing (which doesn't seem as lame as it sounds), US Gov & Politics, Advanced Japanese, and an independent study in Japanese film.

That last item is the surprise film studies minor finisher offer as well, which RATHER rocks.

Honestly, though, at this point I'm having better luck comprehending the scale of the universe (really damned big) than the reaches of my schedule. I'm not going to take my recently checked-out library books back quite yet, but soon. Actually, maybe I will. It's better to wait until I can actually appreciate them. In any case, I've got way too much to read. All of my classes are fairly demanding, and I want to do well. This and the fact that soon I will be playing City of Heroes with the boy, which is almost like recreational reading (only more social and with superpowers.)

What else have I been thinking today...

OH YEAH. I got an e-mail from these fellows today in response to an inquiry from almost a month ago. I don't really remember the ad I was answering so I don't remember what exactly the deal entailed, but there may be a video game writing opportunity in there somewhere.

So tired and blerfy.

There was more to say, and probably more INTERESTING things to say, but I'm so...exhausted. I can't believe how much random shit takes out of a person. In fact, you wouldn't believe how much stress flies almost under the radar, like the stress of switching grocery stores (which I may have discussed yesterday? Bags, not boxes, of peas? DAMN THEM TO HELL!), or the stress of using the dishes and untensils of nearly complete strangers.

Anyhow, time for a rest or something. Need to recuperate a bit before launching into the homework...

Keepers

Well, after having astronomy yesterday, I decided that I'm definitely taking that class. Prof seems really cool and I'll be able to live down dropping it my...freshman year was it? Anyways, I'm much more motivated this time.

About fifteen minutes before US Gov & Politics started this morning I decided I'd rather do that than Econ, so I ran out the door to see if it was worthwhile. Unexpectedly, the course will be taught exactly how Carl Sagan said it should be in that book I recently finished. We're going to be picking apart the constitution and then writing our own. This means lots of groupwork, presentations, etc, but it seems like I will be quite a bit more informed on the running of things after that. If I really do read magazines at the library like I always intend, then maybe I'll become more politically aware as planned!!

So those two. I have Japanese at 3. The rest is up in the air until I talk to Dr. Cipris. If he says I can graduate after this semster I will add a Japanese independent study and Great Ideas in Computing. If NOT, I'm going to do an elective independent study of Mark Twain (which regrettably will NOT count for my American GER, which is why I'm taking US Gov & Politics.)

One Semester: Two Semesters:
Astro Astro
US US
J J
Computing Mark Twain
J-indie -----
J
J indie
Tech (something like Computing)
Philosophy? Physics? Something else...

Yeah, I'm definitely going to take a full complement of classes second semester (if I have to stay.) Might as well get the most out of things. Not sure what the fourth class would be. Philosophy would be interesting. I never did get to take a philosophy class...

This afternoon I will buy notebooks and textbooks for Astro and US. There are FIVE books for the US class. Only one for Astro, but it costs OVER a hundred dollars. $_$

Still not sure what to do about meal plan. One of my friends in an apt a couple doors down mentioned that it's not worth it to get a five meal plan, that it's actually more expensive than getting single meals whenever (which I think costs seven bucks a pop. When you think that all I really grab when I go in there half of the time is a sandwich or a bagel...I could really be doing better for myself here.) I just need to grocery shop, I think, and then decide. Today for lunch I went to the Summit since the dining hall was so packed. The Summit was JUST as packed. I had sweet chili salmon and cold soba noodles. It wasn't very good despite the sound of it. Washed it down with a "coffee" flavored Starbucks frappuccino. Still tired, heh.

I think I'm going to head over to Baun (the fitness center, ne) today and see what the extra curriculars are this semester. If I can fit a yoga into my schedule, that might be cool. I'd like to be doing something, anyhow. Not biking at 6 am, though, that was not my thing...

The only other thing I can really say is that I don't inTEND for my blog to turn into my publically accessible calendar or to-do list. That said, I like to put things down on "paper" as I think it through, and this is my blog... I would like to be doing something with my Japanese blog (linked somewhere on my sidebar), but I'm not sure what. It's really boring just simplifying "what I did today" as posted here into something that I can say in Japanese there.

Hopefully there will be some shining moments of intelligence here...or something.

Anyhow, heading out.

Tough night

That says pretty much what I wanted to say. I feel kinda sick, but then I realized there are probably very mundane reasons behind it, so that's fine. Fine fine fine. I'm still trying to decide what meal plan I want.

I need to eat better.

Anyhow, I have sheets and stuff now, so I will be able to sleep much more comfortably than last night. Gonna stay up for just a couple hours and then crash delightfully (I hope) to sleep till whenever. Don't have anything in particular to accomplish tomorrow until 3, except a shower.

*yawn*

Been a bit of a day.

Linking with (almost) wild abandon

So I added too many links (mostly in the art section and a couple in wonderfulity) to really talk that much about. They are wonderful and will hopefully continue to be updated.

One interesting site I found that I didn't link is: Strange Little Girls. Well, I guess I linked it now. View at your own peril. The thing is that it seems kind of interesting but then some of it could be very creepy...like the post of all the crying kids. I guess maybe I've been reading too much about pedophiles, lately, but it seems like something you could get in trouble for... None of the comments on the post seemed to creepy...hmm. I dunno. On the fence...any input?

I'm gonna see if I can indie study Mark Twain instead of doing econ.

And uh...I need lunch before I embark on this afternoon stuff.

Because there is no better way to cure midnight pizza burns

The roof of my mouth was not a happy camper this morning after my cereal and banana. All beat up and throbbing raw. Thankfully coffee, chocolate, and ice cream has amended all of this and more.

Or something.

So, it was really damnably cold last night, didn't sleep much, though I wore many clothes and my shoes. Today I will have blankets, so it won't be such a problem. The air is turned off now, too. Yeah, it's actually sort of WARM in here, now. Whooooo.

Went to the library. Picked up a bio of Mark Twain that I noticed at Cody's once day a while back. Also A History of the United States and Media Mythmakers. Should keep me busy after I finish The Web of Arachnos, which if I neglected to mention already, I am somewhat guiltily enjoying.

Uh...so much crud to do today that I don't really want to think too much about it until I have to go do it. Unfortunately there isn't too much I can get done RIGHT AT THIS SECOND, so I'll just be content to chill until I feel up to picking up the second of my two packages (got my bedding a bit ago...needed a break...)

It seems that I had more to say, but maybe I was making that up. Off to the internet.

Yep

Here we are back in Stockton at school. I have an apt this year/semester, so I get my own room and a kitchen. I'm pretty sure I'll be thinning my meal plan out to five a week, because cooking sounds good. There's even a couch... I have to admit, I'm pretty psyched about that. Luxury seating, oh yes.

My bed, however, is horribly lopsided.

I need to get one thing off my chest. Amtrak today, let me ride for free. Honestly, I tried to pay. I even had my money OUT when the guy came by, but he said he would come back later. Is it my fault if he never did? Or didn't notice when I just walked off the train? I suppose I could've said something to him on my way out, and I thought about it, but it's a little late to ask me to pay when I'm already on the street, isn't it? I dunno what he would've done. It was only 9 bux. They'll live. It's not as if I won't be riding them again. Am I a horrible person?

I finished reading The Demon-Haunted World on the way. Sagan made me wish I understand things better. Of course, I already wish I understood things better, but he made me wish it in a more...realistic way, I guess. I also think that his points about "basic research" being the cornerstone of innovation made a lot of sense. If I ever suddenly come into a zillion bajillion dollars, I will totally set up a fund for basic research. No curing cancer, or this or that, or coming up with fancy robots who wash your dishes. I will fund the guys to do whatever the hell they feel is worthwhile.

I remembered Ox, but I forgot hangers. That's ok, though. I'm going back on Friday to meet Scotty's parents. *EXCITED* (!!!!)

To fill in the City of Heroes gap, I've begun reading the first of...three? novels based on the game. It's campy and silly, but entertaining. I understand it's not exactly a "good book," but I really don't care :D

What else can I say? JD and I went out for Summit pizza (which is exactly the same as it always has been, which is fine, although for some reason you can't get sausage on it : /) to catch up. He looks a lot different, and I suppose I look...the same :D My hair is still a mop and I'm still relatively skinny.

So it goes.

There is an Adult Swim "screening" Sept 7 at Grace Covell with "free stuff." I don't necessarily know what this all entails, but I definitely like Adult Swim, so I'm thinking that's a go. Esp on a Thursday.

Tomorrow there is a meeting for work. Or...rather, for people who WANT to work where I used to work for all of last year. I feel like I should be high on the list of potential candidates. I know I wasn't supposed to be here this year, but since I am, I feel like I should get a spot on the roster. I was a pretty good employee, I thought.

If not that, then I will go to the meeting for the campus "grocery" (read: candy and chips) store.

I need tape so I can put up my posters. It is damned lifeless in here.

My roomies were all rather aghast at my lack of stuff. I feel sort of bad not contributing much (anything). It's all well and good to say you're "totally cool with sharing everything" EXCEPT when you don't actually bring anything to share. We may end up going three ways on a TV (once I get a job.) It seems like whoever WANTS a tv should just BUY one, though. I certainly can't see myself walking away with this tv. If NO ONE can, then we shouldn't get one. This is an issue I will bring up.

Well...that was a lot of random babble. Maybe staying up late will do that. I'm gonna read a book or play a game or something. In all probability, both, but not at the same time.

Props

Wickedy.

In other news...

"But surely readers expect critics to be better informed than themselves? Isn’t that what they’re paid for? Are not expertise, insight, wit, honesty and integrity the requirements of a good critic? Too often now such qualities are regarded suspiciously as evidence of an excessively arty, serious, snobby and ‘pseudy’ attitude to what, after all, is only entertainment. That’s why ‘the common touch’ is now favoured."

Argh, this is how I feel when I write anything!
Especially history essays.

----

Apparently I'm done with my job. That means my last night was a good night, completely with karate screaming porter power, a creepy guy, a pregnant lady, and too many cookies. Everything went very smoothly, though I was the only temp there. In fact, I think it was the earliest I've ever gotten off on a check-in night.

Yesterday was my day off and I went to Yusuke's house for lunch/dinner. It was amazing. A real dinner party! A bunch of his friends came and cooked from scratch all this awesome Asian food. A Vietnamese guy made rare (not that rare) beef with lemon dressing, another appetizer with shrimp, and this beef main dish, all with sauces made by hand. A Korean girl made this awesome fried noodle dish with carrots, mushrooms, spinach, and pork as well as a spicy soup with tofu. Yusuke made (my favorite of the bunch) Japanese fried chicken and bok choy in garlic. There was also tea, sparkling apple cider, grapes, and mint chocolate chip ice cream for dessert (my idea.)

We had such a great time. It's really cool to hang out with people from all different places. We talked about ディスニーランド and マック, also how in Korea apparently Pizza Hut is a fancy restaurant. Then we watched Only Yesterday, which is one of my favorite Ghibli films. So happy!

I went to bed kinda early and slept wayyyy too much, aside from some early morning unpleasantness. Anyhow, it is just way more fun to cuddle than to fill out myspace surveys. Apparently I'm supposed to help with moving stuff today for Jenn who is in Washington. There is a van. I thought it was supposed to be here by now, but she said she would call...

...

Hope I didn't miss it.

I feel entitled

to something tasty with coffee. I woke up at 7 this morning in order to appear promptly at the Crowne Plaza by 8. This was completely unnecessary.

No one told me when to show up today, and I figured since the past two days have been comparitively early starts (9 and 8 am) I would just come at 8 and that if I an hour early, it would be better than being late. Of course, if you're 8 hours early, that wisdom starts to sound a little sour.

I kinda blew the coffee thing, unless I get some from the grocery store. No one around here takes debit. I could've gone to Starbucks downtown, but I didn't really think it through well enough.

---

Yesterday I only worked three hours in the morning, so I was able to meet Scott for some lunchiness and then Yusuke came over. We watched The Chumscrubber, which was so good that I'm going to make Scott watch it with me later. There were also video games involved.

Anyhow...I guess I'm just bumming around until 3:40ish...so...whoo.

Snoozy

I'm tired. I may just take a nap. They let me out of work early. For some reason we thought there was a check-in tonite, but there wasn't. Maybe they will call and send me to a different hotel, but I hope not. I just want to chill and relax.

This morning my main duty was waving a flag at departing busses. I think some of the tourists were very surprised to see me there waving at them. One lady even took a picture of me through the window >_<

Anyhow...

tomorrow at 8, I guess.

Test 2

This is a pretty sweet font. I wonder if blogger will publish it just like this or not...

Do you suppose?

I tried to get it to add LD as one of the blogs I publsih to from here, but it seems to be having a hard time "detecting the editing style." Maybe they are incompatible?

I think I will sign up for a windows live account or whatever-dee-doo...

EDIT EDIT EDIT

First Windows Live Writer (Beta) Test

Well, this is interesting, I guess. My word processing skills aren't really  that terrific to begin with. For instance, I don't know how to get the text to go up there next to the (slightly dated) picture (of me). That would be much more attractive...*nevermind

I like 1Up.

Well, that's handy, anyhow.

Basically this is supposed to synch up somehow with Blogger. I can publish straight from here.

Let's see if it works...

What do you MEAN they don't support image publishing? I guess you have to upload them...separate? Well, that sorta borks this idea. What would be the point of using this if I had to go back into Blogger to edit anyways?

Boooooo.

Maybe it would be better to get a Windows Live account.

Attack of the dress pants

Yeah, the kind that come up to your RIBS >_< They're really cool as far as dress pants go, but totally uncomfy. Not exactly a hit in the newest style. They're also itchier than I thought.

Today is the Marriot again. I really thought that it was only a check-OUT today, which probably wouldn't meant the afternoon off, but instead it seems we will be there all day, or at least I will, since my partner has to leave for a class.

Last night I saw the movie Primer. Wasn't really in the right frame of mind, and it definitely deserves a second viewing. Got some twisty bits. Anyhow, the website seems worth checking out as well, but I have to get going to work soon...or now. I also need coffee...

As nice as it is to have something to do everyday, I do sort of wish it wasn't EVERY day. Working the weekend was a little depressing, esp since it's my last full weekend in San Francisco before school starts >_< Thursday I get to be at home, but of course Scott will still be working. I have a project for LD to do, though, and should probably start getting ready for...

school.

Bleh bleh bleh. I just want to have fun...or something.

Quite Busy

Friday was a total fiasco. Ten busses and the rooming lists weren't done when they arrived. We had to stand outside for a long time and it was pretty damned cold.

Yesterday was better. 7 busses, everything went very smoothly. For some reason, though, they called us to work at 3:30. We seriously sat there and did absolutely nothing for four hours. In fact, we went out for coffee, and peed. I think that is all. I'm brining video games and a book today.

Scott and I were going to see Tron, but I had a stomach ache and we were both tired, so we ended up staying home and playing video games instead. I had a lot of fun, but I still feel like I sort of wussed out. I saw the map of where the theater was and it wasn't nearly as far away as I thought it was. Maybe we should've gone. Anyways, either way, we had fun, so hopefully...that's good.

I can't believe school starts in a week. Everything is finally almost set up. I have an apt and roommates and most of my classes...no books or anything, though. Jeez. I didn't even think of that. I have to figure out how I get my keys and things. The first couple days will be quite stressful, I'm sure, but I think at the end of that week I get to come back to San Francisco to chill with my Scotty.

Other than that? Video games, pancakes, thrift stores. THE WORKS.

Eating

I think I am eating more like a college student this summer (when I'm not even at college) than I ever have in my whole life. I've mellowed out to the point where I don't mind TOO much right NOW, but I will mind a LOT if I gain 20 lbs (in pure fat.)

Hmm...

see, that's what worries me.

I think I started this line of thought when I came to the realization that a quesadilla is pretty much pizza, which is one thing I have been enjoying quite a lot lately (with alcohol, at Jenn's...I see a trend *squint* ^_~)

JTB land

Today was my first REAL day of work. Honestly, it was a lot better than I expected. I have NO idea what I'm going to wear tomorrow, but I'm not dreading going aside from that minor point. Even though it's pretty tiring, I really enjoyed it, and at the end of the night when all the bags are being delivered after you tag them, you feel like you really accomplished something, which is more than you can say about some jobs.

I worked at the the Crowne Plaza hotel today. Actually, it was a little goofy, because they had us go into the office FOR NO REASON at 11 am. We sat there for a half hour and then went to our respective hotels. When we arrived they told us there was nothing for us to do, and to come back at 3. So we all went to lunch, but then I got a call saying that I should go to a different hotel where we, for the most part, did nothing. Then we had to put some inserts in a free touristy guidebook dealio. There were a hundred some to do, but there were a bunch of us folding and stuffing, so it was fine. Then we sat some more. It's really hard to complain about being bored when you're getting paid, though...

Finally it was almost 3, so we headed back to the Crowne Plaza to...stuff more hand-outs. That was great, ha. There were various other tasks, and the afternoon was whiled away talking in English or (listening in) Japanese, a Starbucks run, checking hotel rooms, arranging keys, and then I had to go buy a cake! It was someone's birthday. I was really glad they let me go. I volunteered because everyone else was busy and I don't think they thought I could handle it, but I did. W00t! And then I got candles. (Someone named Kaori's birthday...)

Finally, after all our careful preparation, it was SHOW-TIME! At 7:30 the busses started pulling up. We were doing five. The porters unloaded the luggage and it was our responsibility to compare the tour ID on the bags to a list of room numbers and tag them all accordingly. This was the most hectic part of the day, but also the most fun. You have to be quick, but accurate. At the end we were missing a bag, but it turned out that someone had tagged it and just not marked it down. Just to double check three of us (lol) were going to go up to the 12th floor to make sure it had been delivered correctly. The elevator was taking too long, so one of the others suggest we run up 12 flights of stairs. I thought he was joking, but suddenly they both took off towards the door, so I followed. As the door was closing behind us I heard the elevator ding its readiness-- as if we cared any longer ;p Of course, by the 12th floor, we were all staggering and barely breathing. I came in second place.

Oh, and the bag was there XD

After that, we were officially done. Many おつかれさまでしたs were exchanged, and I left...only to return moments later since I forgot my bag XD On the way home I was very hungry and not quite sure what I would eat upon my arrival at the apt, so I decided to treat myself to some tasty (but not excessively expensive) foodage. Chicken quesadilla was had, and it was UBERDELICIOUS. There are leftovers for the boy, so I hope he gets home soon. (Even when I work, he is still busier.)

Anyhow, this pattern (with a few changes, unique events taken out, and check-out's added starting on saturday in the mornings) should continue for the next two weeks. I was a pretty daunted earlier, but now I feel pretty confident. Also, it's great to be surrounded by so much Japanese. I wish I was as fluent as everyone else, but the times I can think of something in Japanese quick enough make me happy. Sometimes I don't always understand, but for most of the times like that, there are times where I feel surprised to be following, so hopefully that means I'm improving...or...something.

YAYS!

nooz

I added a cool comic.

Work will entail going to hotels, counting/unloading/watching bags, and checking many many hotel rooms. I wonder how long it will take. My first three days or so I start at 11, but after that it may be earlier because we start check-out.

I'm envious because most of the other people they hired seem to be fluently bilingual aka (half-)Japanese.

Today Yusuke and I will have coffee and watch a movie. I'm already going to be running out of money between buying clothes for work and going to see Tron on Saturday. Plus groceries. Plus...whatever. I think what I will end up doing is just keeping track of how much b-day money I spend on things that I NEED and then paying myself back later when I get my check from JTB. Contact isn't out until the middle of Sept anyways, and I can always import Earthboundage.

I don't know what to have for lunch.

Good Weekend Story

So much stuff has happened and I haven't updated at all!!! *_*

First, though, I need to put in a load of laundry so I have something to wear to WORK today...

...

Friday I hung out with a Japanese guy I met on craigslist named Yusuke. We get along really well. With other people I have met, it was awkward and we didn't have much fun, but with Yusuke, everything was great. I showed him Shadow of the Colossus and we made spaghetti before he had to leave. After that I was just sorta bumming around the house, but I ended up going out with the boy and some PEOPLE FROM WORK. That was pretty fun. I had already eaten, but I had dark cherry cheesecake for dessert (yummmm.)

Saturday we just kinda punked around the apt for the most part. That night we watched The Secret of Nimh **spoilers**, which I haven't seen in ages. I wanted to see if it was still scary. I can't really say that I was actually frightened this time, but it was really easy to see why it would've been disturbing for a kid (what with the bloody swordfights and sinking into the gloopy mud, not to mention, you know, rats smarter than us.)

I had a GREAT day on Sunday. The only thing that could've been better is if Scott could've had as much fun as I did. He had lots of work to do : / Yusuke invited me out to lunch with his Korean friend. There was a festival in Japantown, so we got katsudon (tasty!!) and then wandered around there for a bit, went to a park, then got coffee, and finally ended up on the roof taking pix. Those two are a total riot, very funny, and always teasing. We had a really awesome afternoon. Last night we watched some cartoons and then sacked out so Scott could get up UBER early to finish some stuff for work. I was up for a bit to make coffee and have a snack, but then I sacked out again. Gotta be sharp for my meeting at JTB.

Other notable items: my birthday cards were all found! I got monies now :D Also, an extremely helpful friend of mine is going apt shopping for me in Stockton, so I won't have to journey down there before the appointed day of...evil : / *sigh*

I'm really nervous about my job. I know I don't have the right clothes, so there's that, but I just hope I don't screw up. If I do, I know that I'm messing up 6,000 people's vacations o_o That's not a little intimidating... Today is just a meeting, so I'm mostly worried that I will look like a scrub compared to everyone else...we'll see.

Other than that, I think Yusuke will be a good immediate motivation to study more Japanese. He is leaving at the end of the month to go back to Japan (where I could've hung out with him if I were going : /) but we will be pen pals.

I still feel stupid a lot, and wish there were something I could do to ameliorate that, but ah well. I just can't help wishing I were better. It seems like maybe I could be and I'm just lazy. Or maybe this is really the way I am, and that's sort of depressing. I dunno. I should just shut up ;D I'm not in a particularly bad mood, and there's no reason to be...so...

I will read some more while waiting for the laundry to be done.

Amity

I was browsing 3yen today and found AEON, which is an English school corporation. They also have a program specifically for kids called Amity. To tell the truth, this looks pretty wicked cool. Possibly even better than JET. I'm so glad I found this program. If I decide to go teach, I will probably apply there.

I'm not very good at sleeping.

Yesterday FINALLY got cool when Scott came home and we went over to Jenn's new place. She needed help getting her stuff out of her car, so we pitched in to get it done, but not without pizza, alcohol, and a really crazy Thai Western movie (with a surreal hand-tinted color scheme to it) first. It was midnight on our WAY to the store, so by the time we got back with our foodage and started the movie...who knows? I lost track of time completely. All I know is that we didn't go to bed until 7 this morning and despite being totally zonked, I didn't sleep very well and was wide awake at noon.

*sigh*

Frustration.

There are so many stressful things, and they all seem to be very...not something I'd like to stress over. Not that I enjoy stressing, but lately I'm really envious of people with actual lives instead of the stupid college slog. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.

My mom said I should skip the job I finally got and concentrate on making sure I have a place to live for school. There is a certain amount of sense in that, but only a certain amount. It's not going to take me two weeks to go down to Stockton one day and look at a couple apts. Also, I almost want to take this job just on PRINCIPLE to make it seem like maybe I did SOMETHING responsible this summer. Of course, the lazy side of me who especially dislikes doing things that don't relate to my career aspirations would be fine with not taking this short little stub of a job and relishes the license to do so. Do you think it would be better for me to study harder and watch foreign movies for a couple weeks instead of playing gopher? That said. I am flat flat broke. It'd be nice to have some cash to look forward to.

And then I remember how in debt I am and how riddled with payment my future will be. My income will be hollowed out completely and I will be left with such a dainty shell of cash that the slightest unforseen expense will shatter my standard of living.

Dining with Jabez

The rat and I are fleshing out our foodage today with some saltines. They taste exquisite compared to the nasty stir fry.

D-lectable.

Next comes the choice of evening activities. I think I will throw myself out of the apt for a bit, maybe go swing up at the park in an hour or so (let the nasty settle first...) Until then, I imagine I'll be here putzing with my DS or reading or drinking ice water or surfing or studying Japanese.

I need to get more exercise. I've been woefully sedentary these past few days. There just isn't anywhere I feel the need or desire to go. If I did go out it would be for food or shopping or something and I have something like six dollars, so that is a no go. I wish I were more creative. I SHOULD take my camera out and go for a wander, but that sounds so lonely and I can be lonely here if I want. Maybe I will see if I can find any interesting bored people on craigslist and hook something up for tomorrow.

Broken garlic powder stir-fry w/egg

There were noodley veggies in the freezer. There is no soy sauce, but there is pepper. I have no idea what this will taste like, probably garlic...

Most of it will stick to the pan, anyway, I presume.

Hmm. This isn't so great. In fact, it's pretty bad. I just hope the egg got cooked enough...

I dunno if I really want to eat this.

*cough*

No, I DO know. I don't...

I will just choke down as much as possible and hope that dessert is better.

Maybe I will have another clementine to balance it out a bit.

3 Dreams

1: I was given an NES. It didn't really look like an NES, more like a Playstation. I guess it was like a rerelease, because, yeah, it could play not only cartridges, but CDs and DVDs as well. I got Final Fantasy, Megaman, Megaman 9 (which doesn't exist), Super Mario Bros., and some other stuff including Kid Icarus, which I've never seen and must've made up the gameplay for. No Castlevania, though : / Only had one controller, too, so I couldn't play Mario with whoever was with me...I think my brother or someone.

2: I was on my way to my first day of work, nearly there with no time to turn back, when I realized I was wearing the scrubbiest clothes I own. It was only a meeting, so I figured it would be better to show up hobo-y than not at all, but gah...gotta make sure I have some nice-ish clothes on Monday.

3: I was in gym class and we were playing this strange variation on soccer where you had to roll the ball into these circles painted on the ground. We were playing on a soccer field so sometimes people would forget and start streaking for the goals. Beforehand we had to "warm-up" by seeing if we could jump to this spot in the middle of one of the circles. I had to wait for EVERY SINGLE KID to try and then when it was my turn I was standing there ready to go in front of everyone and I did it, but then he started the game and everyone laughed at me cuz I was in the middle of the field. I don't think the teacher liked me much. There were all sorts of kids I used to know like one of my neighbors whom I didn't really get along with and one of my friends (with white-blond hair) from elementary school. I scored once and then was going to again, but the circles were color coded according to teams (there were three or four.) We were orange, so a green circle wouldn't count...

sknil etc

For some reason Toasty Frog wasn't on my list yet, so I added him. This morning I found Kawaii Not (evil cute things) and the Wooster Collective (street art.)

So far...nothing. I can't believe it's quarter to 11. I guess maybe I should take advantage of my last week of "freedom" and just lounge around, but I'm supposed to figure out school crap and probably should study.

I might just read and play video games, though.

It's creepy that the summer is ending.

It's Official

I'm really not going to Tokyo. Not this semester, not next semester, not at all. No study abroad in Japan. It's sort of sad, and sort of defeats the purpose of my entire major. Ah well. Just means I have to...study harder...or something (like maybe study at all the way things are going lately.)

*sigh*

A Pictabulous Update

This is a snap of Ian and Mandolin:

The rat I am babysitting has crawled upon me!

Still crawling!

This is the cutest one. I am using it for my default Myspace pic now.

A quick run down (and some happy sparkly bits)

of the radicality that is the finale to this weekend:

Saturday night we ended up out with Ian's friend Chris for some tasty Mexican food. I had chicken fajitas and THEY WERE TASTY. Then we watched one of the best movies OF ALL TIME, Chungking Express.

Sunday morning it happened that Ian discovered a DREAMCAST had arrived in the mail, so I finally got to play Rez and Space Channel 5. Then we multiplayered a bit on the 'cube (Mario Kart and Smash Bros.) before heading downtown. He showed me one of the thrift stores he likes and a board/role playing game store. We sat around the bus stop for a bit prior to my embarking on the three hour trip home.

I mused a bit on the bus.

Upon returning home I saw, to my eternal astonishment and delight, that our house guest had cleaned the whole place. ("Instant karma," says the boy.) There was much rejoicing. We had pizza 'n beer (that I bought...yes, my first ID-backed purchase of alcohol. Awwww...) and checked out the movie Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior, recommended by my brother. It was pretty good. Much jumping and kicking.

The other perquisite of everything at the moment is that I get to have a pet for a couple days! He is a cute and friendly white and brown rat. I just fed him some nuts and seeds and crackers which he is munching contentedly. Sparkles! He likes to climb around on hands and pee on electronics. (*shrug* I have no idea.)

So, everything pretty much roxxorz, unless you count school and money and all that sort of crudbuckety nonsense.

"Crudbuckety nonsense..." I think I like that.

Very glad to be back in Frisco, even though I had a good weekend. It really felt like coming home :D

The rule is...

that whenever I do anything actually WORTH taking pictures of, I will not have my camera with me. It is a law of nature, a law of physics, a law of Emily. We went to play pirate mini-golf at the wharf/beach/amusement park. It was a bit of a walk, but pleasant enough. We took the coastline. There were surfers, which I don't actually think I've ever seen in real life before, only on tv...

We both performed atrociously as far as our golf scores went. Par was generally a bit beyond us. "Walk the plank" is what the score interpreting sign told us. My favorite hole was the second to last one, which was the captain's quarters. Apparently the captain went down with a previous ship, or something, because was a ghost projected eerily on the wall who shouted at us to leave. Very inhospitable pirates all around. "This deck is for buccaneers only!" or was it scallywags...perhaps they have a deck for each? Anyhow, the captain was desk. I want that light for my house to scare away unwanted visitors. "Get off my stoop!" instead of "Get off my ship!" maybe.

Last night we had a really great stir fry of which there are left-overs in the fridge that I'm supposed to eat for lunch. Not sure if I'm in the mood, but I should probably eat it considering I have seven dollars in my bank account. After that we played video games, and Ian gave me a Sonic Rush and Super Monkey Ball Touch & Roll for my birthday :D Then inexplicably the night turned to South Park marathon, which was ok, I suppose. I've never really paid too much attn to that show, so it was interesting. The ones we watched were MOSTLY funny and not TOO stupid.

Today Ian works until 5, so I've got the whole afternoon to punk around. If those damned chickens next door (yes, they have chickens) don't shut up soon I'm going to go butcher one and have THAT for lunch ;p

"Santa Cruz, you're not that far..."

"No, you're not that far."

Yeah, pretty much whenever I am traveling I have to listen to The Thrills - So Much for the City, but this time it was a little more relevant than usual because I was going to...

SANTA CRUZ...but I'm getting a bit ahead of myself.

Yesterday morning early early early Scott straggled home from the office, packed his bags, and (pretty much) left directly. I zonked out again for another couple hours and then woke up to my alarm going off. My first thought was, "Oh, I must have to wake Scott up for something," but then I realized he wasn't there : / Then I realized I was supposed to get ready to meet Randy for coffee.

We chattered and had some rather mediocre coffee water. Mine was supposed to be chocolate macadamia flavored *shrug* I guess it made some vague intimations...but other than that *shrug shrug shrug*

Then I bustled around, ran a couple errands, met one of Scott's co-workers who will be holding down our fort while we're gone, and hopped a Greyhound south. It was a very nice bus with seemingly new upholstry, not too crowded, and quite fast (not to mention direct) compared to the Stockton-Frisco run (which if you recall, goes through...SACRAMENTO >_<)

Hanging out with Ian has been cool so far. I really like his house. It's tiny, but not in a cramped way, more in a compact efficient sort of way. He has a big futon bed I can sleep on, while he climbs up to the loft, for instance. Also, the dish rack is hung above the sink (which is also handy since then they don't drop on the counter, but into where the water SHOULD go :D)

Mostly what we've been up to is playing video games so far. He has quite a few, many of which are new for me. I'm keeping track of that in my 1up blog.

Also, he has a kickin' MacBook Pro (which he bought refurbished for a quarter cheaper than it should've been.) I'm not familiar with this browser, though, so I'll add links to everything later if I feel so inclined...

*lazes about*

Ian made a pizza from scratch yesterday (dough, sauce, and all.) It turned out AWESOME. He also whipped up some amazering eggless chocolate chocolate chip (with cream cheese frosting) cupcakes. Quite handy in the kitchen, he is.

One thing I learned is that volumizing shampoo doesn't work. Another thing I learned is that I never want to put it in my hair again!! ;p Just imagine me...poofier than normal *cry* lol Nah, it's not too extreme, but I can definitely tell the difference. Had to borrow the shower after a travel-y day, but I think next time I'll use the other shampoo. It's just that I didn't read the bottle until after I had squeezed it out, and didn't want to waste it : /

We started watching The Great Dictator (Chaplin, ne) last night, but I got too sleepy to really enjoy it, so we'll finish it when he gets back from work. Yeah, he's at work until 1, but all that means is that I get quality time with the video games (and can play all the one player I want without feeling like I'm being boring.)

What I've seen of Santa Cruz so far has been pretty nice. For some reason wherever I go in California I feel like it is exactly what I expected it to be. I don't even know what I expect things to be, but even when I first arrived fresh off the plane from Wisconsin I thought, "Yep, this is definitely California." I wonder where all these preconceptions come from and why they are all right... Santa Cruz has a cute main drag, lots of hotels, and somewhere, a beach. This morning I am just chilling, but I don't know what the plan for the afternoon is. Then tomorrow Ian has to work most of the day, so I should probably get out at least a little. That is assuming I can pry myself off the gamez.

heh ;p

The trick to eating sushi

is to successfully decide whether you want heavy or light. I don't even want to know how much fat was in the unagi, avocado, crabmeat, crazy gooey (Polk St.) roll I had today. I couldn't even eat all of it at the place and had to bring the rest home. Then I got kind munchy, so I ate the rest and am currently debating whether or not that was the right idea.

Probably not.

REGARDLESS, I added some links to the Japan section. If nothing else, definitely check out PingMag. They've got some great articles. I especially enjoyed Portable Chopstick Designs and Scott Campbell: Misforming Transformers.

Did you read the last post I made? Did you follow the link? If anyone is reading this stuff, it'd be nice to get some comments up on LD. Gotta plug my psuedo-work site, ne.

*plays games or something*

Very short post

Yeah.

My Guilt

I am the one who said no!!! I am!!! I admit it! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to. I was so confused. Who is this freak they have writing the boy's preview? Why didin't I realize the end was sarcastic when I read it the first time! I think in my confusion I skimmed. The door mention would've tipped me off. Oh the sighing.

Everyone go click yes :D

On the other hand, this is much better. Click on that, too.

Let us also take this moment to say some other words:

I'm going to Santa Cruz tomorrow for a fun-filled weekend of DSness etc and veggie food. How roxxor it will be.

Today is library and laundry. I think maybe I will not go to the civic center one. I think instead I will go to the one on Green, or maybe the Chinatown branch. I just don't have much interest in heading down that other way...

I'd also like to study some Japanese today. I know I keep harping on that...my slacking, my lack of willpower...my stupidity!!! I'm actually going to study today...CROSS MY HEART (no hoping to die, though, that's no good)

Melted Brain

Well I did eventually go to the museum. I was supposed to meet some people and then became so paranoid I would never find them that I ducked into the movie I had wanted to check out. It was long.

It was strange.

It had good music

and nasty things.

Also naked people and elaborate outfits.

Drawing Restraint

Number 9 is what I saw.

They chop a bit.

Also, what is "ambergris?"

Obviously, I really don't understand it at all. I've looked at some of his other stuff (on that site and in the museum) and don't really get that either. It's not really on my wavelength.

Yick Bleck Phooey (and the usual insecurities once more laid out in all their splendor and misery)

This morning was wasted here. I may or may not have made 48 cents.

*dies* I think the last hour and a half or whatever..two hours maybe (GOD) have ruined any motivation I may have had.

Uhm...last night I was uber-sick off my stupid pill. Managed to make dinner, but then couldn't eat it. I guess I'll have leftovers for lunch.

Today the museums are free so I should go see some modern art, but...

I dunno. For some reason in Paris it was cool to do stuff by myself, or at least I WOULD and enjoy it. Now, I just feel like it's lame or boring or not worth it. I mean, even the first time I came to San Francisco (or was it the second...) it was a total on my own thing. That was still cool.

Maybe I'm just depressed still. Haven't heard anything back from school...wish I could just skip the whole damnable thing. Also, I'm not sure I'm really cut out for this job that I will be doing in two weeks. I may end up spending my entire pay check just to ride the stupid bus around V_V Yesterday, as I said already, I took a big long nap to try to feel better. I don't want to do that today. I've slept enough. Sick of sleeping, but I'm sick of most other things too. The boy will leave soon and I'll be left with a messy apt and guilt.

To clean or not to clean...

The summer is wasting away.

Maybe since my strategy yesterday sucked I should just drag myself out today. That is easier said than done, however, because for starters, I need a shower. That means I need to shower, AND eat lunch, AND WALK alllll the way down there and actually have the attn span to look at art by myself for...however long. None of this sounds any good to me right now.

One of the most alarming things is that feeling that one has already given up. Not like you think you will, but just something in you tells you it's already happened and you had no input. Generally when I get that feeling, it's pretty much over. The damage is already done, and the end is near. Whatever it was tends to finish as a phenomenal waste of time/money/energy and I feel like crud about it for just about ever. I've been feeling that way about Japanese lately.

Maybe it's just a personality flaw.

Maybe I'm a weak, pathetic, flake. It's a sad thing to realize.

This is altogether too emo.

This is altogether too much what I luckily DIDN'T do YESTERDAY while I was feeling really bad. I decided I WASN'T going to blog about how much I hate myself, and here I am doing it now, albeit in a much more calm state of mind.

I feel guilty. Most of all for not having a handle on myself. I feel like a horrible person for not knowing what's going on...with me. Also for my paralyzing indecision. Laziness. General funk. I don't want to inflict my existential dilemmas on others. Or any other dilemmas.

Where I am right now, I don't think I would want to hang out with myself. I'm worried that eventually everyone will realize that I bring them down, or that I just have no concept of reality, or that I am a loser and a bad influence, SOMETHING and then I won't have a boyfriend or a friend or an acquaintance.

I hate the fact that I'm writing this. It sounds so...stupid. It's exactly the sort of crap you would expect to find it a worthless blog of no account.

I didn't want this to be that.
